NCERT anchor: NCERT English Mridang Class 1 — colour vocabulary in poems and pictures

• Read colour names: red, blue, green, yellow, orange, black, white.
• Match colour word to object — red kite, green mango (unripe).
• Spell colour words with help from classroom chart.

1. Read the word, see the colour

Level 1 (Verbal): Point to red block → say red.

Level 2 (Symbolic): Word blue matches blue crayon.

2. Indian festival colours

Verbal: Red gulal at Holi; yellow marigold; green tricolour band.

Visual: Flag and festival pictures.

3. Do not confuse colour and object

Verbal: Orange is colour and fruit — context tells meaning.
