NCERT anchor: NCERT English Mridang Class 1 — number names one to ten in stories

• Match number words one to ten with numerals 1–10.
• Read: three mangoes, five balls in picture captions.
• Write number words in simple maths stories.

1. Word ↔ numeral

Level 1 (Verbal): three ↔ 3, seven ↔ 7.

Level 2 (Symbolic): one, two, three… ten — fixed spellings to learn.

Visual: Chart with 3 and word three side by side.

2. Use in phrases

Verbal: Two hands, ten fingers, one nose.

Visual: Body maths link to counting note.

3. Tricky spellings

four, five, eight — practice on four-line notebook.

Matching cricket score words

Step 1 — Scoreboard shows: 5 runs.
Step 2 — Write word: **five** runs.
Step 3 — Teacher says "eight" → write numeral **8**.
Step 4 — Match all cards 1–10 to words.
Answer: 5 ↔ five; eight ↔ 8.
