Capital Letters

English (Mridang) — We Are All Indians / All About Me. Names of people, places, and I are capitalised in Mridang reading and writing.

• Start every sentence with a capital letter.
• Names of people and places: Ravi, Delhi, India.
• The word I is always capital when you talk about yourself.

Verbal: Start every sentence with a capital. Capitalise names (Ravi, Delhi) and the word I.

Symbolic: Sentence start → cap. Proper noun → cap. Common nouns mid-sentence → usually lowercase (mango).

The dog barks. (not the dog...)

Level 1 — Names

• Priya lives in Mumbai.
• I am happy.

Level 2 — Days and months (intro)

Monday, January, Holi — special names → capital.

Level 2 — Not mid-sentence

We do not write: I like Mango (common food) — mango is not a name here.

Fix capitals: 'i live in delhi.'

Step 1 — Start: **I** (always cap)
Step 2 — Start after . : **Live** → already after I, use **live** after I am... Actually: **I live in Delhi.**
Step 3 — Delhi is a place name → **Delhi**
Answer: I live in Delhi.

• Fix: 'meera and i play in the park.'
• Capital needed: monday or mango (in 'I eat mango')?
• Write your name correctly in a sentence.

Stretch: Fix: "meera and i play in the park in delhi." — list every capital you added and why.

Revision tip: After writing, do a "capital hunt" — underline the first letter of each sentence and every name.
