Demonstrative Pronouns

• this/that — one thing near or far.
• these/those — more than one near or far.
• Point with hand while speaking — grammar matches distance.
• Reader dialogues: 'This is my friend' vs 'That is the school gate.'

Level 1 — Core idea

Verbal: Hold pencil close: This is my pencil. Point to door far: That is the door.

Symbolic: Singular: this (near), that (far). Plural: these (near), those (far).

Visual: Two zones: arm's length = this/these; across room = that/those.

Level 2 — Going deeper

This and these sound like 'here'; that and those like 'there'. Verb agrees: This is; These are.
