• People nouns name boys, girls, men, women, and jobs (teacher, doctor).
• To spot a people noun in a short sentence.

Verbal: A people noun names a person — boy, teacher, doctor — or a proper name like Ravi with a capital letter.

A noun is a naming word. People nouns name a person.

Level 1 — Jobs are people nouns

Nurse, farmer, driver, student — all name people.

Level 2 — Proper nouns for people

Ravi, Meera, India (as a person’s name in stories) — always capital first letter.

Level 2 — Not people nouns

School, ball, happy — school is a place, ball is a thing, happy is a feeling word.

Find the people noun: 'The farmer grows rice in the field.'

Step 1 — Read: The farmer grows rice in the field.
Step 2 — Ask: Who does the action? → **farmer**
Step 3 — Farmer names a person → people noun
Answer: farmer
